Hello there ,

I will use the aerogel material for a cooling analysis that I will perform in Fluent. Although aerogel is a solid material, it has a very porous structure, but I cannot choose a solid material as porous in fluent right ? Is there anyone who can help with this?

Cooling analysis tries to measure conduction heat transfer and determine how long the aerogel will protect the box from high temperature.

Hello Alluna,
Yae you can't define the solid material as porous in fluent. Aerogel is the lightest solid, however you need to consider under fluid regions in Fluent.

What really matters for porous zone, as how you define the inertial and viscous terms.

Good luck

in other words you may try to model it as a fluid with huge viscosity.
in addition you may apply porous zone
