I am attempting to run ANSYS 2019 R1 Fluent in parallel on 8 cores but the simulation runs for 2 to 4 hours then Fluent disappears logging the following errors:
Error [node 0] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 1] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 2] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 3] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 4] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 5] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 6] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 7] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! Error [node 999999] [time 4/22/20 0:18] Abnormal Exit! What could be the issue? I have attempted all the solutions suggested on this platform for problems that are almost similar but nothing seems to work. Thank you very much. Much appreciated |

This is very common error. However, if the case did not diverge or if there is no UDF that could be causing this, then most likely reason is the network. The network across multiple nodes is unstable. If it is a single computer with multiple cores, then it cannot be network but resource unavailability could still cause this issue.

Thank you very much for your response. Much appreciated.
I run Fluent on a single computer with multiple cores, 4 cores,8 threads. Your hypothesis that it may be resource unavailability may be correct. Though I was able to deduce that this often occurred when the internet connection to the computer was interrupted. The last two simulations I ran, the computer was offline and the simulations were successful. This is just a theory, still uncertain if this is the actual root cause. |

Yes, the net connection disruption or connection changes the settings. So, that is the reason.

Doing another simulation run with the computer offline to see if there will be any issues.
Will do an update on the outcome. Again, thank you for your response, much appreciated. |

Hello Morice
Is the error due to a network problem or memory allocation? I have the same issue. Thanks |
