Hello! Everyone, Today my computer was abruptly shut off during calculation of Ansys Fluent Transient after 100 hours of simulation.
I set the autosaved every 100 iterations. When I am trying load the solution Ansys can't load the file SYS-1-1.cas.gz. in the directory but I have a lot of file like \SYS-1-2.cas.gz, \SYS-1-3.cas.gz less SYS-1-1.cas.gz. Does somebody have any idea how can I recover the data and continue the simulation? |

The (intermediate) solution is stored in a file that has extension .dat or .dat.gz.
If you don't have such files, you don't have intermediate solutions, and you have to restart the simulation from T=0. |

WB doesn't give a lot of freedom when using Fluent, CFX, etc. within the WB. However, continuation of the simulation is simple. You need to check which .dat or .dat.gz file is the latest one; you can either check based on the time-stamp of the file, or its name, or use the following command in the Fluent text user interface to check the time of the data file (.dat or .dat.gz)
(rpgetvar 'flow-time) Do note that braces have to be used as it is and there is no closing of the inverted comma. This will tell you the current time of the simulation. Start the Fluent by clicking on Solution and let it load whichever file it loads. If you do not have any boundary or operating condition that changes with time, then you do not have to worry about which case file it loads. Once Fluent starts, load the latest data file by going to File > Import. Check its time by using the command above. If you think the solution should have reached this time before Fluent crashed, then you have to right file. Just start the calculation. For the future, prefer using Fluent outside WB until and unless you have a requirement that requires you to run Fluent from within WB, such as a parametric study or development of the digital twin.
