Dear All,

I have one question related to fluent. Please help me out with this.

1. During the running of the fluent, we see Residual and other graphs as provided. But, when the fluent is closed and re-opened, how to obtain those graphs again? (I do not need to run the simulation, I just need to see those graphs). Does solution monitoring play a vital role in this context?

Thanks,
Sunag R A.

you have to make monitor and write data you want into file, it should be done before calculation, otherwise you have to rerun

best regards

I understood the method you are saying. I will make the monitor and write it down. But, once it is completed, It will in the file. So, we need to make graph out of it or won't it show automatically once fluent is opened again?

I hope you understood the question.

If simulation is completed, the only thing you can see are residuals
monitors -> residuals -> plot

best regards

Thank you. I have re-created the residual plot. But, what about other plots? Say for eg. I had created a monitor of Cl and Cd of a particular airfoil. But, once we close the fluent and re-open after iteration, I could create only residual plot directly. How about the other graphs?

Only the residual history is stored in the .cas/.dat file. Monitors are not saved. If you close and re-open fluent the monitor plots will be reset and you have to generate them again by rerunning.

If you want to have any type of history, you must export the monitor into a file and recreate the plot yourself (using excel, matlab, etc).
