Hi everyone,

I recently completed a simulation of a NACA 2412 swept wing with a winglet at various angles of attack. I'm getting good lift and drag results when I compare them to a research paper I was trying to copy. Now, I would like to be able to to visualize the wingtip vortices aft of the wing and winglet. I tried plotting the velocity vectors but this was not very successful as I couldn't see much at all. I tried searching and all people were saying is to plot the vorticity contours but I couldn't figure out how to do that. So, could someone please explain to me how to plot the vorticity contours or at least point me to where I could find more information? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

The vorticity is available in Fluent and CFD-Post.

In CFD-Post as variable Velocity.Curl in the variable list Derived / Vortex Core.

So you can display wingtip vortices of wing and winglet by Vortex Core Region in Location submenu.

Hope this help,

Regards,

I think you can use software TecPlot, which also can plot the vorticiy contour。
