Hello guys,
I'm running a 2D simulation of a flat plate solar thermal collector with 130k cells in the mesh. There is natural convection involved. Now, the system is a workstation with 256 GB RAM, 28 cores and ANSYS academic research license. My huge problem is the simulations are running super slow! Same with the meshing. In the task manager, the CPU is never used more than 20%. I have tried setting the prioroty of the ANSYS tasks as 'high' to no avail. Please help me. I have many design points and different cases. At the current rate of simulation speed, it will take me a LONG time to finish the simulations. |

Did you select parallel?
In CFX you do it when you open the solver, just change from serial to MPI local or something else. In Fluent you need to do this the moment the first windows pops up. Meshing is by default only on 1 core, but there is also on the left side of the window, where all the settings for meshing are, an option to choose more cores (I think it is in advance settings or something like that). |
