Hello, can some help me understanding why Orthogonal quality in FLUENT is different from Orthogonal quality calculated in ANSYS MESHING?
Ansys MESHING min OQ is 0.2 while loading the mesh in FLUENT is 3e-3???
How this is possibile?

Recently I dealt with the same issue. I asked this question even with people from ansys and I did not get a satisfactory answer. Basically the quality is likely assessed by different criteria (equations) in individual programs. It also depends whether it is a surface element or volumetric element, type of element (tetra, hexa, poly..) etc.

I also found out that especially in Fluent the quality depends on number of cores, so parallelization is also an influential factor.

The conclusion is humble - until you import the mesh into fluent you have no guarantee the mesh satisfies your criteria.

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. So, i need to load the mesh to check if is correct or i need to remesh.

Orthogonal quality in the Meshing application is equivalent to orthoskew in ANSYS Fluent Meshing, except that the scale is reversed:

Orthoskew = 1 – Orthogonal Quality
