Hello
I've been looking for an up to date suject for my thesis. I'd like to work on supercritical simulation but I do not know which suject should I choose exactly . Please help me to choose a convenient suject . |

Well, supercritical injection of fuel and oxidizer into LRE combustion chambers are somewhat up-to-date, specially for CH4/LOX combustion.

I would look for a particular application. Liquid rockets comes to mind (we call them liquid rockets, but the propellants are usually supercritical and people don't realize this). Supercritical CO2 power plants are a bit of a fad currently.
trans/Supercritical fluids have been studied since the early 1900s because that's how refrigerants/HVAC works. And honestly unless you are in a transcritical regime (i.e. phase change), supercritical fluids are quite boring in terms of fluid mechanics. |

My suggestion is you begin by identifying a particular use of fluids in a supercreitical state that you want to study. Maybe you have one in mind already?
Saying you want to study supercritical fluids is like saying you want to study mathematics or heat engines. All these topics are very broad because they've been around for centuries. My other point is that unless you are looking at the detailed statistical physics of fluids in the supercritical state, they have the same properties as gases/liquids: density, specific heat, viscosity, etc. but just different values. You might as well say I'd like to study a fluid that has pressure and temperature dependent properties. |
