Hello guys
I've simulated a wind turbine which rotate with wind velocity. it seems everything is OK,but I need to know the rotating speed (rpm) of the wing turbine. How can I calculate this parameter on CFD-post? Best |

How I would do it, (I just tried this with a simulation at a set speed and got reasonable close to the set RPM), is to put a point somewhere on the surface of the turbine (the tip is good), from this point you can get the local "velocity in the stationary frame" (which as the point is attached to fluid up against the blade and assuming that the no-slip condition is applied should give you the local velocity of the blade) and the position of the point from the hub. With those two pieces of information it's straightforward to calculate the RPM.
