Hi everyone,

I was trying to replicate an online tutorial on Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers found in Youtube. The link is provided with this post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPJImYibx48

I followed all the steps of the tutorial an run the simulation with no problem. However the results that I have obtained are different than the ones of the tutorial (see image)

The temperature profile doesn't seem fully developed in my case (as it is all blue instead of red/yellow). Does anyone has any idea of where I might have made a mistake?

My ideas:

1. Maybe I didn't run the simulation for enough iterations? (around 200 iterations)
2. Maybe I have missed one of the steps of the tutorial? (I went through the steps and everything seems fine to me.)
3. The geometry I've used is slightly different from the one of the tutorial - the hot air inlet and outlet are in the opposite position compared to the one of the tutorial (but I've obtained this geometry from the website of the youtuber.)
4. Maybe I have created the "Named Sections" in the wrong way, for example I have named my hot air inlet at the bottom right of the geometry whereas I believe that it is at the top right of the geometry in the tutorial. Moreover I've included gravity in my simulation which may impede the hot fluid to reach the top left of the geometry. I think this makes sense, what do you think?

PS: Has anyone successfully performed this tutorial?

Would really appreciate if someone could help me with this

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

You may forget setting inlet/outlet temperature in BC.
