Hi all,
I am trying to simulate flow of supercritical Co2 in microchannel using fluent. it's a 2D simulation and it consists of a inlet, outlet and two walls.
Inlet velocity-0.01 m/s
Inlet pressure- 7.5 MPa,
Inlet Temperture- 304.2K,
I have chosen velocity inlet as inlet boundary condition and pressure outlet as outlet boundary condition.
But i don't know value of pressure at outlet and what should be the value of operating pressure?

Thank You!

The operating pressure can be set to anything as long as you remember that all pressures in Fluent are gauge pressures, so adjust your settings accordingly.

The only solution which admits only upstream conditions is when the flow is super-sonic. Otherwise, you need a downstream condition and this probably means giving up the pressure at the inlet constraint. Or you can iterate the outlet pressure until you get the desired inlet pressure (there's no built-in tools to do this).

Hi Dexter,

How did you implement the property variations for the supercritical CO2 in FLuent? Did you have measured values of properties over the temperature range?

Thank you
