Hello,
I've got a strange error in Fluent; I haven't found the solution on the internet. After some time when the Fluent is opened and I'm not using it, I get a message in TUI: 999999: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 999999: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 999999: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 999999: mpt_establish_connection: error: unable to connect: No error 1: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 1: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 1: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 1: mpt_establish_connection: error: unable to connect: No error 2: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 2: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 2: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 2: mpt_establish_connection: error: unable to connect: No error 3: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 3: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 3: mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error 3: mpt_establish_connection: error: unable to connect: No error MPI Application rank 0 exited before MPI_Finalize() with status -1 and I can't see the mesh - only white background. Have you got any idea, how to fix it? Regards! |

Just kill Fluent and start over again.
This is one of the events where Fluent screws your work. The source can be anything: numeric, wrong input, divergence......... |

Thank you. I did that and It worked.
But I still don't know the source of the problem. Might be anything. Thanks. |

Code:
mpt_connect: error: connect failed: No error Code:
mpt_establish_connection: error: unable to connect: No error Code:
MPI Application rank 0 exited before MPI_Finalize() with status -1 Are you running Fluent on your computer that is using wireless or something? Maybe your network connections go to sleep because of power saving settings or something. |

@FSM I didn't solve my problem, but now I don't need to use Fluent on the computer with this issue, so haven't try yet. Maybe try to reinstall ANSYS package, please write then if it helped.
@LuckyTran I'm using wireless connection, but I haven't any problems with this. |

I am still not sure about the reason of that error, but I guess that was because of the connection with the license server, which is made by internet in my case. I am not using a wireless connection but it is likely that I had some internet problem and a cut in communication with the license.
In my case, I just killed Fluent and started again from the point it stopped. It worked. I am not sure if reinstall the Ansys package would work. Maybe it is one possible solution, in case of just killing fluent and starting again didn't work. |

I have license and calculation on one machine. So there is no communication problem.
It just happens when there is a miscommunication between the cores. Because (in my opinion) the mpi error implies something went wrong in the parallelisation, which is where mpi comes into play. So I think something went wrong on one of the cores. Either through a fpe, wrong setting, divergence, or what so ever. It can be anything. Then one processor stops and is no longer communicating with the others or the master. |
