Dear All:
I am doing simulation in ANSYS fluent of a geometry which has dimensions 800m*600m*100m. It has 12 stacks in this geometry that are producing flue gas and have certain velocity and temperature. So, I would like to see the effect of flue gas in the nearby area. Is it possible? If Yes, then what mesh size should I put to get results. Thanks in advance. Regards, Balli |

The mesh size depends on the Reynolds number of the flow field you're dealing with. So the velocities of the stacks do matter. I would start with maximum tet size of 5m-10m, and minimum tet size of 0.5m-1m (possibly around inlets, and other boundaries), do the prism layer, and see what you get. Try to increase the mesh size gradually, and compare the result.
BTW, you should consider the fact that cells of size 10m are no way close to reality, specially when it comes to turbulent flow! But it will give you an idea. |
