Hi everyone,
I used to perform my simulations in CFX but I had to pass out to Fluent due to some problems in the solutions ... In CFX u can concatenate different simulations (reading the data from the first simulation and starting the second one from these results and so on). I used to perform one Steady State Configuration and a Transient State configuration automatically, reading from the solution os the Steady State. How can I do this in Fluent?? I know I can simulate a Transient State after resolving a Steady State ( see UDF to transfer results from one case to the next case ) but not automatically.... Do I need a UDF?? Thanks in advance |

If you are using the same grid, it should be straightforward.
As long as you know how to do this: Run the steady state case, change settings to transient, run transient case. If you can do that, then you just need to know to read the data file (the thing that ends in a .dat), at the right time. You can even read data from steady case into a transient case, Fluent may give you some warnings about extra variables or missing variables. It is recommended however, to read the data into the same state in the case file. For different grids you need to interpolate. For automation, write a journal file. |
