Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use the SOFC module for simulating a fuel cell. Do I have to define the cell reactions on the anode and cathode side (1/2 O2 + 2 e- --> O2- etc) or is the reaction tab under materials/mixture only for additional reactions (for instance when using CH4)? So far I haven't found an answer in the documentation. Caro |

Hi Friend,
Which module do you plan to use? If it is the SOFC/SOEC, no there is no need to define involved reactions; it is embedded in Fluent itself. If you like to use "SOFC with unresolved electrolyte" then in that case, you need to define and set the reactions in the module which is simple. There are a few further steps compared to the other module. In both cases, there would be no necessary to define the reactions using UDF or something. However, you can improve and manipulate the reactions yourself bu the SOFC_user.c code provided for additional purposes. I hope it helps

Thanks! So far I was using the unresolved electrolyte, but I'll try the SOFC/SOEC now.

Hi
How to define and set the reactions in sofc with unresolved electrolyte module? What are the further steps compared to the other module. |
