Good day all the Master Sifus / Gurus,

I am having error message during running calculation with iteration 1000 with simple heater base towards heat pipe.

"Cannot Create Surface from sliding interface zone, Create empty surface"

The purpose is to transfer heat from square plate towards round pipe on surface. I suspect connection surface between heater surface to pipe is not optimize. cause heat pipe not impact from heat from base.

Did try to weld the surface but cant help. Thankyou for looking into this problem.

Regards
Onn83

hi

The message "Note: zone–surface: cannot create surface from sliding interface zone" simply means the boundaries of the non–conformal interfaces match exactly, such that there are no non–overlapping sections on either side of the interface.

chek this file for more details

hello FAR
my problem is this. i have a "2D" simulation planar. i checked the interfaces conform together. i modelled my simulation with Design Modeller and meshed with ANSYS Mesh. why exactly i have this note?
cannot create surface from sliding interface zone.
Thanks

Error message: "Note: zone-surface: cannot create surface from sliding interface zone. Creating empty surface."
Ref: ANSYS Article 000055392
Ref: ANSYS Article 000030574

"The error message can be safely ignored. This message happens when we have non-conformal interfaces. When a non-conformal interface (Mesh Interface, aka Grid Interface) is created, it leads to creation of additional zones like interface-interior and interface wall zones. The new zones are a subset of the original interfaces that we have defined. These new surfaces are actually empty and cannot be used for postprocessing. That is what the message is indicating. However, this doesn't stop us from doing any post-processing, as the original interface zones can be used instead. In short, the warning can be safely ignored and user can proceed."

Hello all,

I faced this warning "Cannot Create Surface from sliding interface zone, Create empty surface" when I had two periodic faces. I did not want any interface in my domain, but Fluent showed two of my walls as interface.

Solution: Simply head to Mesh Interfaces in the Fluent tree and delete the NOT WANTED interface. Then go tho the boundary conditions and change the condition from interface to anything it was supposed to be.

Hope it helps.
