Hello,
could you please help me figure out how to correctly set parameters for creating a plane surface using the TUI I have the following line in my journal file (created with TUI): /surface/plane-point-n-normal x=112mm 112. 0. 0. 1. 0. 0. When I run the journal with: fluent -g 3ddp -i Test.jou, I get this warning: " Warning : surface creation failed " I did test the creation of the plane (with the same parameters) from the GUI and it worked all fine. Do you know how to resolve this error? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. EmiS PS: I'm using ANSYS 17.0 |

Is the point you are specifying in your domain? Make sure the units are correct (and defined correctly in Fluent), you may be trying to put a plane at x=112m not 112mm.

Dear "Amanberpig",
Thank you very much for your reply. From your hint I decided to add an extra line in my journal file to set the units properly. This is what works for me: /define/units length mm /surface/plane-point-n-normal x=112mm 112 0. 0. 1 0 0 The strange thing is that I did verify the units from the GUI and from there everything was fine, I could create the plane at x=112 with no problem. There might be some discrepancy of units between the GUI and the TUI. Thanks a lot. EmiS |
