Hi, everyone,
I am performing a simulation case on silicon deposition from SiHCl3, involving multiple volumetric and surface reactions. I have tried to import the reaction mechanism from CHEMKIN file (.inp). The surface reaction mechanism includes 3 site species and one solid bulk species (Si). The problem is, after importing the files, Si did not show in the “Selected Solid Species” list but in the “Selected Species” list (see the pic attached).
I have considered this to be incorrect, so I replaced Si in relevant reaction equations with other species, then move Si from “Selected Species” to “Selected Solid Species”, and change Si back to the equations. Until now, the situation becomes the same with the tutorial case on surface reaction in Fluent-Help. However, I have always suffered from convergence problems, after trying different solution methods and decreasing the Under-Relaxation Factor sufficiently.
I am now not sure if I should move Si from “Selected Species” to “Selected Solid Species”. Is the non-convergence issue caused by that? This problem has plagued me for a long time.
Thank you very much for your time and help.
