Hello, guys,

I'm having a problem modeling the boundary conditions of a diaphragm pump. I already have the dynamic mesh of the moving diaphragm and the two check valves modeled, but I don't know what boundary conditions to set at the inlet and outlet. I have the mass flow/velocity for the inlet (and also can know the pressure), but I don't have any information about the outlet (and I want to know the pressure of the fluid coming out of the pump). Do you guys have any suggestions? Thank you very much!

Yes. I was understanding the membrane (or diaphragm) pump wrong. By definition, both inlet and outlet pressure are specified, they are design characteristics.

Hi, I don't have a exactly answer for you but you need to do your model a have a single unique solution for the equations that you need to solve. So you can put the velocity in the inlet and the pressure in the outlet. The atmosferic or gaue pressure is good.
