Hi guys ,
I am new to ansys workbench.I am using Fluent Solver in it.
I am trying to do fluid flow simulation for a part body.i would like to explain steps how i have followed. i have encountered a problem at selecting the different faces of part body like (selecting the long cylinders and its base)

1.I imported solid works part body (.SLDPRT) to Geometry.
2.After opening the DESIGN MODELER.I click on Generate on design modeler panel. Open Tools>Enclosure.
3.In Enclosure 1 > shape-Box > cushion – Non uniform > make values of 30mm.
4.Now Boolean operation is used .open > create > Boolean
5.In Boolean operation i selected subtract operation to subtract one part body from other part body (solid to part body)
6.now i can select only the outer part of enclosure of box
7. here my problems comes i would like to select the inner part of those long cylinders and base.

i am attaching here screenshots of those pics

Thanks in advance for solving my problem

Try creating named selections in geometry module before boolean operation (hide the outer body) and see if that works...

Thank you Sir for your reply,
I did as you said but i encountered a problem (error)at during meshing said as "overlapping of named selection of meshing is done"
please tell me how to overcome it.

thank you sir.

I could think of a couple of hideous but surely workable ways of doing this.. one of those could be to section the mesh at different planes to try and leave behind the small pipes/ holes and other internal parts cut open and then select the faces by zooming in without any issue.. another way could be the lengthiest (but again workable), just click near the face you intend to select and keep shuffling the layers from left bottom of your 3D model screen..
Hope it helps.

Sir,
It shows error with this message as follows

"The mesh file exporter does not support overlapping geometry in named selections. Please resolve the issue and try again. You can use the option “Show Geometry in Overlapping Named Selections” (when you right click on the Mesh branch of the tree) to help diagnose the problem."

please reply as soon as possible

Hey!

You have named the same part twice in your named selection. This is not possible.

Search for the parts you selected twice and named twice via:
right click on Mesh-> (? one of the options, sorry cannot open now) -> overlapping named selection.

This highlights your double named selections and you can deselect this part for at least one of your named selections.

Ciao
