Node based boundary condition at outlet -2D

Hi,
I am new to this forum ( had an account since long but did not use much). Can anyone help me with this : I want to have a boundary condition of alternate node as "zero normal velocity" for the outlet in my 2D simulation.How to achieve this ? I do not any option of node based boundary condition in FLUENT. Am I missiong something. I have read this in a paper so it must be possible. Thanks ! |

If you make it a wall, you have zero normal velocity.
I don't understand what you mean with the word "alternate" in "boundary condition of alternate node". Do you want to have nodes 1, 3, 5, 7 etc have the boundary condition but nodes 2, 4, 6, 8 etc not have it? That does not sound like a useful boundary condition. And why would you want to have the boundary condition explicitly on the nodes? This would only make sense if you are doing an analysis of different implementations for boundary conditions, and if you are doing this you'd better use your own code in (e.g.) Matlab, because in Fluent many things could be happening "under the hood" that you are not aware of, that might influence your analysis. |

Yes that is what I meant , Exactly. This is because I am trying to simulate a perforated outlet which would resemble this kind of "boundary condition".
I understand that this might not yield the best results but as I mentioned earlier, I want to check my parameters with another work where they have applied this kind of boundary condition. Can you help me with setting this? |
