hellow everybody:
My name is Luke. I am trying to simulate the chemical reation which is about the multiphase flow (two phase). I consider the liquid-water in a electrolyzer and there are two electrodes in it. I want to electrolysis the liquid-water and produce the H2 at the surface of cathode and the O2 at the surface of anode. Beside, the mass of the H2O(consumpted), H2(generated) and O2(generated)must to be shown or calculated in my problem. The simple chemical reaction is below. H2O(liquid)---->H2(gas) + O2(gas) This problem is involved with the multiphase and the species transport. Which multiphase model should I choose? And how can I see the phenomenon of the species transport? And how can I calculate the amount of the H2 or O2 which is generated by the chemical reation? Please help me. Thank you~ |

Hi there!
What kind of Electrolyser are you going to model? Is it a PEM, SOFC or other kinds?

have you checked in google? it is very simple two electrode in KOH electrolyte solution

Hi..I need help in PEM Water electrolysis.
I keep getting this error in 18.1 version, "Fatal signal received (Segmentation Fault)". Resetting the setup tab didn't help though. And in the 2019R2 student version, the solver shuts down abruptly after clicking on 'run calculations' and I'm not even able to note the error. I'm not able to narrow down to what I'm missing. It's for my M.Tech project and I'm supposed to validate the experimental results. It's a single cell, The channel is parallel flow, GDL is present only on the cathode side. Membrane used is Nafion 117. Can someone help me please? |

Hi there!! I need some help in eulerian 2 fluid model simulation which I am doing for my PEM water electrolyzer. The thing is I am using UDF to define my source and sink term. At the anode, I am defining the boundary condition as only liquid inlet flow and I defined the mass source term for the oxygen (gas phase). While doing so, the gas phase volume fraction immediately reaches 1 making the liquid phase volume fraction 0 resulting in divergence. I need some idea on how the volume fraction is being calculated?
