Hello,

I'm currently working on the Tutorial 12. Cold Flow Simulation Inside an SI Engine.
I don't understand the valve.prof file. when i open it with text editor i have this:
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
((ex-valve point 141 1)
(angle
1.119000e+02 1.120000e+02 1.140000e+02 1.160000e+02 1.180000e+02
1.200000e+02 1.220000e+02 1.240000e+02 1.260000e+02 1.280000e+02
1.300000e+02 1.320000e+02 1.340000e+02 1.360000e+02 1.380000e+02
1.400000e+02 1.420000e+02 1.440000e+02 1.460000e+02 1.480000e+02
1.500000e+02 1.520000e+02 1.540000e+02 1.560000e+02 1.580000e+02
1.600000e+02 1.620000e+02 1.640000e+02 1.660000e+02 1.680000e+02
1.700000e+02 1.720000e+02 1.740000e+02 1.760000e+02 1.780000e+02
1.800000e+02 1.820000e+02 1.840000e+02 1.860000e+02 1.880000e+02
1.900000e+02 1.920000e+02 1.940000e+02
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

If somebody can tell me what this file is for ? and what's the meaning of all the angles ?

Thanks.

This is an input file for defining how valve lift varies with different crank angles.

Sir, Can you give information about how valve.prof is created for any engines valve profile.I want to create valve lift profile of TV1 engine.So I can use it in Ansys Simulation of IC Engine.

Thanks in advance.

Have downloaded student version for fluent ic. Can't find where to download files referred to in title bar. Can anyone explain how where to go, thanks in advance.

Working this tutorial:-
Chapter 15: Tutorial: Solving a Cold Flow Simulation
Called for in this tutorial subsection: -
15.1. Preparation
1. Copy the files (demo_eng.x_t and lift.prof) to your working folder.
To access tutorials and their input files on the ANSYS Customer Portal, go to http://support.an-
sys.com/training.
2. Start Workbench.

we are doing an acadamic project on Ic engine cold flow analysis in cfd. How we write a valve lift profile?

I have followed a tutorial on utube. Got pressure changes in cylinder, but couldn't see movement of piston wall. Is it a post processing issue?

You could look at this example, it explains how such files are made.
