hello everybody,

i think i have a simple problem with fluent but i am a beginner. i made a 2D modell and i defined the walls, inlet, outlet etc. with ICEM. now i want to do first simulations in fluent but fluent doesn`t recognize these boundary conditions which i set in ICEM. in fluent just "periodic" appears, thats the area i set inside.

Would be great if anyone can held me. i am struggeling for hours now with this problem...

regards, chris

You may have not meshed those inlet and outlet faces. I prefer to use gambit for meshing

any message by icem when exporting the mesh?I don't know icem, but in gambit if for example one face hasn't been meshed the program warns about something similar to "face xx has not been meshed and it will not be exported".

if you used icem, a common mistake is to name the part of boundaries after generating the mesh.

You mean that i have to convert to unstructured after having defined the boundary conditions??????
