Hi,
Could any of you please tell me what is the significance of the 'MERGE TOPOLOGY?" (YES/NO) in Ansys design modeller? I found it in "Extrusion option" of design modeller while I was extruding my multi body part. How does this "Merge Topology" concept differ from the "Merge Part" in multi body part?

Is it always necessary to form a single part, if my model contains different parts for different domains (say fluid and solid) or may be different cell zones? Because I found problem in meshing if I form a single part of my two body parts (that includes solid and fluid domains).

Furthermore, if I use "Sweep Mesh" method instead of "Multizone" method with specific sizing options for each domain (or zone) independently, is that okay? Because this method seems easier to me as I'm a beginner in Ansys. By this way, what I understand, the mesh would be patch independent at the (fluid solid) interface. Is there any problem if I make (fluid-solid) interface in the fluent after importing that mesh? Is there any option to make these mesh interfaces (between two cell zones) during the mesh generation in Ansys before importing it in the Fluent? If yes, then please let me know the procedure.

Thanks in advance to the prospective mentor.

Wish this got answered! I'm trying to troubleshoot why my mesh is not working correctly and have begun looking at everything from the start again
