issue

transient, VOF (water-air), DPM flow

inert particle in water flow penetrate water-air interface.

in an experiment, if particle density is closed to water, particles moves along the water flow streamline (velocity vector).

However, in the simulation, particle goes to air phase and move continuously...

simulation condition

flow condition

transient

volume of fluid (water, air)

implicit formulation

implicit body force

phase 1 : air (1.225 kg/m^3)

phase 2 : water (997 kg/m^3)

surface tension force modeling

surface tension : 0.072 [N/m]

continuum surface force - wall adhesion

viscous model (for turbulent)

k-epsilon (2eq)

realizable

scalable wall function

discrete phase (on)

interaction with continuous phase

unsteady particle tracking

inert - particle properties

size : 5um

denstiy : 1095.2 kg/m^3

injection type

normal to the inlet surface

randomize starting point

velocity : 0 m/s

boundary condition

inlet

water flow velocity : 0.03 m/s

water Volume fraction : 1

discrete phase BC type : reflect

wall

discrete phase BC type : reflect

outlet

pressure-outlet

discrete phase BC type : escape

method

scheme : simple

presusre : PRESTO!

second order upwind (대부분)

initialization

compute from : inlet

patch to fluid region

velocity : 0 m/s

water Volume fraction : 0

before calculation, check through result contour (water phase 0, velocity 0 m/s)

Hi

Did you found the solution? I have the same proble, tha particles don't move with the water phase and I would like to know if you solve the problem
