Hi all (again),
I am still new to multiphasing simulations with particles and I face a weird issue with my multiphase particles simulation in fluent. The issue is that the residuals for the second phase (the particles) stays at 0 (u, v, w, vf). However, when I plot the particles velocity in a particular axis, they have a velocity in the different axes. When I check the secondary phase material, the only option I can set is air (the granular option is checked). Not sure this is normal, or if I should have to select some kind of solid material for this second phase. The particles in my model are considered inert, but not massless. Why does the residuals for the second phase stay at 0? And on a side note, is there a way to get the number of particles in a cell zone? Thanks! |

It appears that you have both, DPM as well as Euler model, enabled in your simulation. This is required only if particle phase occupies rather high volume fraction, say more than 15%. Otherwise, you do not need to enabled any (Eulerian) multiphase model. Keep that off.

Thank you so much for all your help, I really appreciate it! Never expected to get replies to my messages, and even if I did, I wouldn't have expected anyone helping so quick. So thank you once again!
