I am simulating in fluent to see the coolant effect on tool used in turning operation. I don't know how to introduce mixture of air and oil in the fluent. Can anyone guide me ? It would be of great help.
Thanks in advance. |

Hey mate, the description is very limited , but this is how you should approach, use eulerian 2 volume of fluid method, specify what are the phases, for eg phase 1 oil and phase 2 = air or vice versa. and in the phase interaction, use any one surface tension model (not sure) , and the challenging part is the solution initialisation , for that i need further info regarding the geometry, i hope it helped.

Thank you very much. Here is the geometry of the part. There is a small surface you can see at the edge. It is the tool tip and it is where I am giving 1090 kelvin as temperature.
I am posing links for the geometry for your better understanding. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oA...9vEhWBUjmHkLAu https://drive.google.com/open?id=1U7...iDsoD6nvzcxlCA https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qe...qMEfkAzM6O0Nhz |

If it is a steady flow, it doesn’t matter at all whatever fluid you are using regarding this simulation since i am assuming you are using fixed temperature boundary, moreover if you are using transient , and if i assume that there is a pipe flow from where the oil is coming ( most common) , then you need euler multiphase volume of fluid method, i hope it helped.

hi everyone i am working on a multiphase fluid simulation in fluent . that is pipe that have a saturated vapor with a cooled wall . after simulation with a acceptable residuals and the temperature contours was good but about volume of fraction of each phase there is no good results and all fluid domain have a constant volume fraction . indeed i wanna calculate amount of condensed liquid . is there anyone can help me ? its so necessary for me ...
and also i m sorry of my bad english :| here is my email : kiarashniroumand@gmail.com |
