FLUENT two-phase mixture method for nanofluids

I need to compare results for a simulation with nanofluids in a coiled tube using the single-phase and the two-phase mixture methods in FLUENT. The single-phase method works perfectly well. However, I am confused with the development of the two-phase Mixture model. The pertinent literature states that the fluid properties need to be defined through the use of the effective properties (as in the single-phase simulations). Hence, I am not sure how to define the model in FLUENT.
Therefore, if we define a Mixture model with two-phases, my understanding is that the base fluid properties (water) will be defined with UDF’s for the effective properties. Then how can be define the properties of the nanoparticles i.e. The second phase? Am I right to assume that for the second phase, the granular option needs to be activated? This will then allow us to define the diameter…. |

why udf ?
simply select water as your primary fluid. And yes granular needs to be activated. i have done this but the simulation has failed till now because if i set the dia as e^-9. And if i set it around e^-6 or above the simulation runs fine. if you have any answer to the above problem please let me know. accessaccount32@hotmail.com thanks |
