Dear all,
I am trying to simulate the water spray cooling of a metal piece. Please find attached an image of my geometry. I am interested in the cooling produced by the spray droplets in the heated metal piece. I am using DPM. I am using the following BCs: INLET: mass flow rate, T=294 K, escape BC for DPM OUTLET: pressure outlet, T=294 K, escape BC for DPM WALLS (except the walls of the metal piece): no slip, heat flux=0, T=294 K TARGET PIECE WALLS: no slip, T=1300 K, wall film Particle type is Inert in this preliminary phase, and break up is considered. Diameter distribution is uniform and drag law is spherical. For the parcel definitions I have used Parcel Release Method= constant number, fixed to 200000 particles in each parcel. Injection type is "surface". The simulation runs and I obtain convergence, but when I have a look to the results I see that the target surfaces have not changed their temperature, and particles are getting hot instead of colding surfaces. What I am doing wrong? BCs? Injection? Thanks in advance for any kind of help. Best, Tensian |

A mistake:
Heat flux=0 in the walls. T=294 K was a previous try...DPM BC in these walls is escape as well. Thanks! |
