Hi,

I have one scouring problem for bridge piers with collared plates in flow3d
I have simulated that in the 23rd second of the message the solution is nearly steady ,It repeats for me every 5 seconds, but at least until 100 seconds when I repeated the process of continuing the program, the 50% change in the amount of scour was still happening. Considering the very long time that the software takes to solve the problem (several days), should I ignore the above message and continue the program with more seconds (for example, up to 300 seconds) until the amount of scouring changes is close to zero or is there a problem and I have to modify the Computational models again?

Thank you for guiding me in this problem.

The simulations bases its guess on the solution being at steady state based on the total mass, average mean kinetic energy, average mean turbulent energy, and average mean turbulent dissipation. These values are evaluated for a 1% change over a given time windows (1/10 of simulation time) and then it makes the suggestion.

Running for a longer simulation will allow you to see how the scour evolves over time. Unless the hydraulics develop a condition that drops the bed shear low enough to stop scouring, you will continue to see scour as long as the simulation is running or until you run out of material that is allowed to scour.
