Hello all,

So far, I am loving Flow-3D and it has been great with simple questions however I am wanting to study the mixing of two rivers which have different flow rates, densities and velocities (the numbers for which I have procured).

I have an air-tight STL set up (280x280m) with the Gravity/Viscosity and Turbulence physics at their respective enabled numbers and a good clear mesh. I was wanting further assistance on how to parameter and achieve this free-surface simulation for further research and design purposes. I have attached an image (the top right is the low point where the confluence occurs.

I thank you all dearly for your assistance

You can modify the density and viscosity of fluid using scalars model.

Assign fluid only to the river1. Add scalar+fluid to river2. And then as the river mix, you can see the mixing patterns and other dynamics.
