Default whch kind of mesh is better for finer mesh??

As I know two kinds of mesh,gradual mesh(set planes to where finer meshs needed) and nested meshs,which is better,thank you for reply

Hi,

Which is your transition ratio? Which is the biggest cell size? And the smallest one? For me, the main problem of gradual mesh is the mesh quality control. Take into account that your cell aspect ratio should be near 1. This can be a bit difficult with this method (not impossible haha). With nested meshes inter block data is something to take into account also. I´m not sure exactly but I think that Flow3d don’t recommend to use more than 3 mesh block to make transitions… You can check it in the manual!
I think that there in not better or worse method, it depends on your application. Take also into account the solver you are using. Is not comparable the mesh size/quality you need for implicit method or explicit one. I think that you can find information on the internet, sometimes…too much...haha
