Hi,

Ensight claims to have a VR version supported in platforms such as Canon MR, Oculus Rift, Cave, Power Wall.

I am interested in CFD results in Oculus Rift headset. Anybody have experience with that! Is it immersive virtual reality??
Moreover, does it have a separate version to support VR or does the normal desktop works!!

EnSight VR (a license level of EnSight) can operate within Canon MR, Oculus Rift, Cave, or Power wall.
For the Oculus Rift, please see our notes on our FAQ site for the requirements:
https://support.ceisoftware.com/hc/e...ght-and-Oculus

It is immersive VR. You effectively see the Viewport of EnSight within the headset, in stereoscopic. You then use the controllers with Oculus to navigate through the scene. Moving your head moves the camera of EnSight, so it follows your head motion. The controllers control your body translation through the scene.

So, there is isn't a special "version" of EnSight per say, but you do need the "EnSight VR" license in order to utilize it.

Should you have more specific questions, we'd be glad to help you out directly (sales@ensight.com; support@ensight.com).

Hey Kevin,

Thank you for your reply. But you guys mentioned in your blog that virtual reality is support by Free version as well.

I actually need to visualize the results before any attempts to buy the VR license! See this https://support.ceisoftware.com/hc/e...07_oculus.pptx

Thank you.

Regards
Hamed.

My apologies. It does appear that EnSight FREE supports Oculus Rift usage. You can contact the main support contact (email support@ensight.com; 1-800-551-4448) and they can help you directly, or direct you to a local support representative if that is appropriate.
