Hey all,

I had a very simple and basic question, after the hardest simulations I got stuck on specifying a region for the solid domain.
As in the screenshots I posted, I have a green fluid domain and 2 solid domains, some of whose walls are hidden. The entire domain is closed, and the solid domain has a thickness that is molded with the outline of an engine cylinder and all the normal vectors are in the right direction.
The problem is that there is only one stream ID=0 in the regions section, I wanted to know where the problem is and how I can change the cylinder domain from fluid to solid.
I also checked the "SI8_water_jacket_and_head_CHT_steady_RANS" example but still, there is no option to change or create a solid domain.

Thank you very much for your attention and help!

Sincerely,

Hello Amin,

Looks like you are using CONVERGE Studio v3.1. Things are a bit different when it comes to stream assignment compared to older versions of CONVERGE. New streams are now assigned under the Stream Manager panel, which can be accessed from the top of the case setup dock (Click the configuration icon (≡) to the right of Shared_settings). You can add new streams, assign regions to each stream and enabled solid streams through this panel.

Please refer to the CONVERGE Studio v3.1 manual (Section 6.3) for more details and/or have a look at one of our many 3D CHT examples cases.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
