Dear sir,
I want to do a combustion of a hydrogen engine. But converge does not support gas parcels, so I drew a six-hole nozzle (the angle between opposite nozzle holes is 120°), and imported it into the converge model. But the jet of hydrogen gas flow is not along the direction of the nozzle. Can you tell me what to do? |

Hello,
Can you please list what your injector and nozzle parameters are? You can attach your spray.in as a text file. Thanks, Angela |

I directly used the geometric nozzle hole to simulate the hydrogen injection, and did not use the spray module. Here is a screenshot of my injector, some model setup parameters. Is there anything else I can offer? |

Hello,
Please use the example case as a starting point to help you set up your case. Go to File--> Load example case --> Hydrogen spark ignition --> Sandia hydrogen DI engine SAGE transient RANS. You also have CH4 in the cylinder region, but you mentioned it's a hydrogen engine. Another thing to verify is if your initial conditions are correct. The hydrogen plumes do look aligned with your nozzle holes close to the nozzle. Depending on the flow conditions, the plumes will deform along the spray axis. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks, Angela |

Recently I've had a problem with a hard ignition. In order to reduce the calculation time, I deleted the intake and exhaust ports of the engine, leaving only one cylinder. At the same time, the initial condition of premixed methane was set in the cylinder. I then added a hydrogen nozzle to the cylinder head. My purpose is to do hydrogen direct injection and methane premixed combustion. The combustion model selects SAGE, the ignition model selects Energy, the energy is 40mj, and L-type ignition. But there was a situation where it couldn't be ignited. Considering the sparse grid, I have encrypted the ignition model to level 6, but it still cannot be ignited. The strange thing is that when I choose the G equation combustion model and use passive-G-transport to ignite, it can ignite. The CONVERGE manual says that the G equation is mostly suitable for premixed combustion. I think my calculation example will be more accurate with the SAGE combustion model. Is there any way to solve it? If possible, I would like to provide my CVG file to you. |
