Swirl Ratio (SR) VS. Swirl (1/min)

Hi
What is the relation or formula between Swirl Ratio and Swirl(1/min)? If i have SR how can i calculate Swirl(1/min) Thanks |

Hi,
swirl ratio is defined as omega3/omega_crankshaft omega3 is the angular velocity around center of mass in z direction, which i guess is what you want to have as Swirl (1/min). omega_crankshaft (1/min) should be defined as 2*PI*rpm, so this is what you need to multiply your SR with. See Eq. 22.2 of the Theory manual for futher information. |
