Hi,

I have a general question. Is it possible to couple the result of a system simulation by Modelica with a model in CFX? If yes, how does it work? I don't have any idea how it works. Do I have to use a specific license??

Best wishes,

Opaque will become famous soon enough
Do you mean an FMU generated by Modelica coupled with Ansys CFX?

If so, read the documentation about using FMUs with Ansys CFX. It has been available for a few releases

Hi again,

I want to simulate the airflow from an air conditioner into a vehicle. I have obtained the input and output variables of the air conditioner through an FMU file (from Dymola). Since I have no experience with this, I have only read the Ansys documentation regarding the coupling of FMU and CFX and built my model. However, I am getting the following error. I have set fmu logging = t for the second time. I got the same error. (attached)

Can you give me a tip on where the problem might be?

wishes

The coupling approach discussed above is good for complex and coupled systems.

However if your system is just a simple performance curve you can implement this is CFX alone with just a CEL expression/function on your boundary conditions. You would then implement the inlet flow rate as a function of inlet pressure (or pressure as a function of flow rate, which ever works best for your system). So if your system is simple like this there is a much easier way of doing it.

Hi,

My aim is to simulate a complex model, but I need to understand how to couple an FMU with CFX first. Because of this, I am starting with a simple model. Is there any guide that can help me?

I have never used FMU so I cannot help you. All I can suggest is to look at the documentation reference Opaque posted and go from there. If you have ANSYS support you can ask them for assistance as they are likely to have example cases.
