Forsky is on a distinguished road
Hello, I want to know how to extend outlet domain in ANSYS space claim. I made initial impeller shape in CF turbo software which includes complete flow domain e.g. inlet, outlet, hub and shroud. I am designing a centrifugal fan. Moreover I want to know about boundary conditions. The outlet of fan will be open to atmosphere. What to put as a reference pressure 1 atm, 0 atm or actual inlet pressure 1530 Pa. The inlet of fan have static pressure 1500 Pa and total pressure 1530 Pa. The mass flow rate is 1.633kg/s. What to put in at outlet. I also attached photograph of initial design where existing outlet is shown.

How to extend the outlet domain in SpaceClaim?

1) Import solid model of part
2) Draw extended outlet domain
3) Remesh, set up CFX-Pre again and then solver.

If you do not know how to use SpaceClaim then have a look at the ANSYS tutorials.

For what boundary conditions to apply: Have a look at the CFX rotating machinery examples, and also the section of CFX documentation on choice of boundary conditions.
zacko and Forsky like this.
