Hello all, I have a rather simple question: Do I want to remove curves from my geometry before meshing the volume with tetras? Regards, joerg.

I don't think so...especially if the curve defines an edge of a boundary...eg the circle around an inlet...I am working with aneurysms and I need this curve to obtain a good mesh... But I am not a specialist in ICEM...mine is just an idea

Hai Jeorg,
Right click on the premesh and you would see that the project surfaces is turned on. So the mesh depends on the surfaces of your model and you don't have to delete your curves But if you delete the curves which are associated then you would probably won't be getting the right mesh. With Regards, Subha. |

The tetra mesher uses geometry curves and points to capture 'hard' features of geometry (sharp edges, corners, etc.). The mesher associates nodes on the mesh to these geometry features. Thus, you want to preserve curves and points that define hard edges and corners if you want that detail kept in the mesh. Curves and points in areas that don't 'matter' (smooth connections between surfaces, etc) should be deleted.
