I have a 1-stage compressor model consisting of a rotor and stator. I have already analyzed it with the SST turbulence model. The y+ for both domains is about ~1. I was trying to test the Spalart-Allmaras model which is still a beta feature in CFX. But when it started in the solver, the solver just stopped and did not move forward from "Initial Conditions Supplied by Fields in the Input Files". Even when I clicked the stop button to kill it, it did not respond.
I tested with default and scalable wall function, but nothing changed.

The version of Ansys is 2021 R2.

Below is where it stopped:

If you are running in parallel, likely a defect where the simulation is "locked".

You can try running it in serial, and see if it passes that point. You decide how to run after that.

Thank you Opaque. So it runs in serial mode. What was the issue here then? Should I use a serial mode to use SA mode? I have never seen this type of issue over the last 10 years with Ansys though.

Spalart-Allmaras has been beta for a while. Likely not fully tested for all configurations by Ansys 2021R2.

Do you have access to Ansys 2024R1, or 2023R2? Possible someone else already reported problem

I do have access to those versions of Ansys. So is it no longer a beta feature in the recent version? Looks like it was a beta until March 2023 according to this post: How to set boundary conditions for the Spalart-Allmaras-Model in CFX?

Update: I looked at the Ansys Help manual and it looks like it is a beta feature still in 2024 R1. There is no manual for the SA model in CFX.

I think you are correct, still beta, but I would try it out in case it is now working.
