Dear all,
in CFD post you have to possibilty to visualize the velocity via a histogram. For example, I can see how much area has a velocity higher than 1,2 * mean vel. Is there a way to get this value in the table? I would like to define it as output parameter for a parametric study. Hopefully it it somewhow understable. Thanks in advance, Claudia |

Thanks, but then I can't use it as output parameter for the parametric study, right?

(I assume you mean a parametric study in Workbench) You can do your function as CEL, and then you can use it for a parametric study.
Define an expression for the mean velocity = volumeAve(velocity)@domain Define a contour object with a contour line at 1.2* mean velocity. Define a user surface with that contour line. Define an expression something like area()@User Surface You can use that expression in WB parametric modelling.

Dear Glen,
thanks for your answer. Yes, I meant a parametric study at Workbench. But honestly speaking, I can't insert this expression in that way. I definded a mean vel as CEL expression = areaAve(Velocity v)@outlet Then I tried to insert the contour, therefore I need a location, I set it also to "outlet". But then there should be entered a variable, not an expression. I just tried to insert a variable with 1,2 * mean vel... I am absolutey sorry, I think it is a good way, but I do not understand it. Could you please try it again? Edit: I added a variable with Velocity v/mean vel, then I can insert this variable to the contour plot, and I can do some lines like, 0, 0.8, 1, 1.2 Then I can use the user surface with the conture line level 4 and there I could show calculate the area with a velocity => 1,2 * vel mean. Am I right or do I have forgot something? |

That is a good solution. That sounds like it will work to me.
