Hi,
I'm trying to simulate a gaz flow mixed with small particules through a porous media. It's a transcient study and I want to model the particle accumulation on the filter by applying variable loss coefficients in Porosity Settings. I'm able to do it to simulate a constant accumulation on all the filter. But I have issues to simulate a variable accumulation from the top to the bottom of the filter. I guess I cannot to it with a simple expression. Is it possible to do it by using User Functions or User Routines and how to do it? Thanks |

What issues do you have applying a variable accumulation? Please explain why you cannot do it the obvious way.

Hi,
In order to simulate the variable accumulation of particle on my filter, I guess I need to use a loop (while or for) using y position (height) and time as variables, but I don't know how to write it in the CFX-Pre. Thanks |

Rather than telling us how you want to do it, try telling us what you want to do. So please explain what you are trying to achieve with variable accumulation.

With the variable accumulation, I want to see the change of the flow in my system, and the impact on the gaz velocity through the filter.
That's why I'm trying to define a for/if loop in Expressions. |

Change of what flow? Change in gas velocity in the filter can be seen easily in post processing, so I do not understand that comment either.
Please explain what you are trying to do. I think you are modelling a system where there is a gas flow with particles which flows through a filter and the particle accumulate in the filter. But why is the accumulation on the filter important? What does accumulation on the filter do? How does accumulation on the filter affect the flow? What are you trying to achieve with this analysis?
