Hi
I'm doing a CFX simulation of centrifugal fan (impeller + volute) with 11-blade impeller. Will the simulation of just one blade (impeller is symmetrical) to save computational effort cause false results, since the volute is not symmetrical? Can someone help me? Thanks. |

It will definitely not give the most accurate results.
The question is: what are you trying to achieve out of your simulations?, and what level of approximation you are willing to accept.? You may set it up with the full wheel/impeller, and still not make the best model selection and it will not give you the most accurate results Summary: there is no free lunch.

Hi Opaque.
I intend to obtain mass flow average value of pressure and total pressure stn frame at impeller inlet, impeller/volute interface and volute outlet. |
