Dear all,
I'm working on a device having multiple and compact cooling channels following intricated paths.
BTW I'm beginning with CFX!
In order to post-process my results, I need to create section planes to use them for contour plotting or expressions calculations.
Unfortunately, the section planes systematically cuts more pipes than I'm interested in, and I can't find a way to isolate the section of interest.
Any idea ?
I thank you in advance!
Nicolas

There are several ways to do that depending on the geometry you are working with, but the one that should work without the need for you to provide further detail about your geometry should be with Iso clips.

First, create the Plane as you are doing now. Next, create an Iso Clip (Location > Iso Clip). On Location, select the Plane you have just created and add a New Visibility Parameter ("white paper" icon on the right-hand side). As "Variable", pick X, Y, or Z and use conditionals to state that the Iso Clip should be created on Plane 1 but also obeying another criterion, such as "X>=0.05 [m]". In this example, the Iso Clip would be created assuming Plane 1 but clipping out all the area that is located where X<0.05 [m]. Add further Visibility parameters, as many as needed, to isolate X, Y, and Z regions so that the Iso Clip will be defined only in your region of interest. Adjust the dimensions and conditionals accordingly to do that. Suppress the Plane 1 visualization to verify if you got your Iso Clip where intended.

Now you can use the created Iso Clip to plot Contours, to calculate fluxes ,etc.
