Hello,
I was trying to run simulation of a compressor stage with a single fluid sector to reduce computation. After completing the setup in Cfx-pre, When I try to run the simulation, The solver stops with the following errors. The ANSYS CFX solver exited with return code 1. No results file | | has been created. ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Floating point exception: Overflow | | ERROR #001100279 has occurred in subroutine ErrAction. | | Message: | | Stopped in routine FPX: C_FPX_HANDLER | | I am new to CFX and checked various other threads but couldn't find the exact issue. I am using ANSYS 19.2. |

Update,
So, I tried to run the simulation with different material i.e Air and it converged in 25 iterations. So maybe it is the material that is creating the problem because I added the material manually in the setup. But I think I should add it through an another method like adding through CFX text files. am I right? |

It is perfectly fine to add everything in the GUI. I only know one thing that cannot be added in the GUI but must be provided by ccl file ... maybe there are a few more, but in most of the cases you can do everything in the GUI. Overflow is a common issue which can be caused by material and boundary condition settings. Check the forum FAQ on that.

Thank you for the reply.
I am wondering if the problem is due to boundary conditions, it shouldn't work with other material like Air at 25 Celsius. Maybe the error is caused by wrong material properties because I have to use another material and I manually added it in GUI. |

Here is the link to the FAQ. It is the place to start: https://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Ansy...do_about_it.3F

Yes I checked that thread yesterday. I believe its the material properties that are creating trouble because the same setup with Air works fine which is default. So, I think that's the properties.
Thank you |
