Hello,

I am designing a pump blade. While calculating the performance of the centrifugal impeller, I do not see the streamlines from the rotor-volute interface. I thought that the streamline of the whole rotor-volute domain could be visualized when I selected the streamline to start from the Inlet. But, it stops in the interface. The solution is converged and the head and efficiency criteria are met but I wanted to see the overall flow from inlet to outlet to map the turbulent regions. Is it because I have a huge gap (50 mm) at the rotor-volute interface? The interface is frozen rotor with pitch change set to automatic. Thanking you.

Hi

it seems like some of your domain are switched off. Anyway, try just for inlet pipe domain then go to all domain.

Are you sure your interface is working correctly? Your 50mm gap does not sound good. Look in the output file at the report on interfaces and see if you have a large non-overlap region. Also, in the post-processor look at the non-overlap variable which shows where your interfaces are not joined.

I suspect your interface is not connecting because of the big gap.
Goenitz and SSapkota like this.

Thank you Goenitz. The problem was not in the domain.

Thank you Ghorrocks. Like we speculated, the problem was in the Gap. Keeping the gap at 1 mm did the trick.
