My problem is that I can't open mesh files created by ansys 14.5 by ansys 19.1. any ideas?
Many thanks in advance.

No one is doing that on a regular basis. So, you need to provide more details. We can't read your mind, nor your screen.
- what mesh file (ICEM, ANSYS meshing?)
- where do you get the error?
- do you have a mesh file (gtm) or a .def file? Or a .res-file?
- what error?

Can be anything and not necessarily be a problem of 14.5 to 19.1.
I have little experience with Workbench. Try CFX stand alone and see if you can import the mesh.

Then still:
- what error doe you get
- Share a screenshot.
- can you open it in Fluent?

So, what you are actually doing is opening a file from ANSYS Workbench Mesh v14.5 into ANSYS Workbench Mesh v19.1.
You are in the wrong forum. Try the ANSYS-meshing and geometry forum.
