Hi,

I am simulating an axial-flow turbine, known as turbine, using CFX as a solver.. I have 8 blades but if we'll take into account the axisymmetric geometry of the turbine, it is not necessary to mesh the whole geometry of the turbine but only eighth of an overall domain. Periodical boundary conditions are imposed on the neighboring surfaces of the turbine.
I am using "k-omega" as turbulence model. Reference pressure is 1 atm. At the inlet I input a normal speed and at the outlet I have Static Pressure with relative pressure at 0 atm. No-slip boundary conditions are imposed on the domain walls(hub-blade-casing).

casing:

Initialization is as follows:

I want to use K-w SSt. but there is not this turbulence model in CFX!!

I ran this simulation. but the following error is appeared. why?

periodic faces have not same mesh. therefore, i used GGI in mesh connection method. Is there a adjustment in non-overlap conditions for periodic rotational sides?

I am grateful that guide me about these problems.

SST is "Shear Stress Transport".

Your other question is an FAQ: http://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Ansys...do_about_it.3F

Thanks.

SST is a other model. There is not (K-W SST) model in CFX. In Fluent, I can be have (K-W SST) model. But in CFX, How can be have (K-W SST) model?

In CFX, K-W and SST are separated!

Thanks for your help.

k-omega is one model.

"SST", "Shear Stress Transport" and "K-W SST" all refer to the same model. SST is a variation on the k-omega model to make it more general.
