hello dear friends
for surace like spillways, What kind of model do you recommend?
with regard menual cfx, about turbulence models As it is written:
k-e turbulence model is not suitable for Flows over curved surfaces, thus based on menual k-e model not suitable in spillwas, i already energy dissipator with k-e model , Despite the recommended menual cfx, my result was good, i used sst model for spillway and my result Were good, and i want using k-e in spillway, but i dont understand why Why menual has this advice?
whether My impression is correct?
thanks a lot

SST is suitable in many cases. There's option for streamline curvature correction.

dear antanas
are you mean that it is preferable compared with k-e model?
thanks

You are asking the wrong question. Just about all flows are curved but that does not mean k-e is invalid for all flows. The question you should be asking is whether the streamline curvature in your model generates an effect significant enough that it needs special attention. I would suggest for a spillway that sounds unlikely.

Regardless I would use the SST turbulence model anyway. It is my recommendation for a general purpose turbulence model. That means you use it unless you have a specific reason not too. And it includes curvature correction options, so you can see if that makes a significant difference to your model.
